How do I connect an LED Strip?

An LED Strip works on 12V or 24V. This means that it can't be connected directly to 230 Volts. A power supply is required which supplies the LED strip with the correct voltage. When you choose a power supply, you need to pay attention to the wattage. Follow the following steps: - Determine the power consumption of the LED strip. The power consumption of each LED strip is shown in Watts per meter, in the specifications section on its product page. - Multiply the power consumption per meter with the number of meters. Example: A LED strip uses 9.6 Watts per meter, and the desired length is 4 meters. The total power consumption is 4x 9.6 Watts = 38,4 Watts. - Find a power supply with a power of 38,4 Watts or more. In this example, a 60 Watt power supply could be used. There is no maximum wattage: any power supply with a power of 38,4 Watts or more will do. The LED strip will never pull more than 38,4 Watts from the power supply.

How can you control the color or brightness of an LED Strip?

A controller or dimmer can be placed between the power supply and the LED Strip. The brightness of a single color LED strip, such as warm white, can be controlled with an LED Strip dimmer. RGB or RGBW LED strips can be controlled using an RGB or RGBW Controller. An RGB Controller can also control the brightness of the RGB LED Strip.
